To the Editor:
I would like to thank all Cooperstown Republicans, and interested residents who took time out of their busy schedules to attend the village Republican caucus last month.
Your commitment to doing what’s best for Cooperstown ensured that village voters will have a choice in the upcoming elections for mayor, village trustee and village justice.
Your endorsement of Village Trustee Joe Booan for mayor not only gives voters a choice between two very different candidates, but it is also a choice between two very different visions for the village.
Joe’s dedication to his hometown of Cooperstown, as well as his dedication to family, and local youth, put Joe in the center of the issues important to village residents.
His experience as an administrator – handling a multi-million dollar budget and payroll, will serve the village well as he brings that expertise to the mayor’s office.
We are also very fortunate to have two very dedicated and qualified trustee candidates – Chip Dunn and Doug Walker. Both gentlemen have committed their lives to Cooperstown and will bring a sense of fairness and a wealth of experience to the village board.
Mike Molloy has 16 years experience as a justice and as candidate for village justice will bring experience, fairness and common sense to that position.
Although I am not a Village resident, I am very proud to have these candidates on the ballot and am encouraged that with their election, the Village of Cooperstown – the crown jewel of Otsego County – will be in great hands.
Your vote for these candidates on March 16 is a vote for the best possible future for the Village of Cooperstown.
SHEILA M. ROSS
Chairwoman
Otsego County
Republican Committee
