SUNY’s Professor Horvath Selected For Fulbright Project

Dr. Thomas Horvath, Associate Professor and Director of Environmental Sciences at SUNY Oneonta, has been selected for a Fulbright Specialists project in Hungary at the University of Pécs.
Through the award, Dr. Horvath will work with faculty and students at the University of Pécs Institute for Environmental Sciences to develop pedagogic approaches to teaching undergraduate environmental science courses and to better coordinate future exchange opportunities for both students and faculty.
Dr. Horvath, the recipient of the 2004 SUNY Oneonta Siegfried Prize for Academic Excellence, is the author of numerous publications on the ecology of zebra mussels and other invasive species.  He has conducted research at the Max Planck Institute for Limnology in Germany.
Since joining the SUNY Oneonta faculty in 2001, Thomas Horvath has taught courses in General Biology, Aquatic Biology, and Environmental Science.  He holds a doctorate in aquatic biology from the University of Notre Dame.
