Photos, Bustles Open Fenimore

COOPERSTOWN

A display of 150 black-and-white news photographs from Magnum Photos, Inc., is among four exhibits that will open Thursday, April 1, when the Fenimore Art Museum’s season begins.
Other shows include “Empire Waists, Bustles and Lace,” which will prepare the way for “Sargent:  Portraits in Praise of Women,” opening Memorial Day.

SWAN SONG:  Mayor Carol B. Waller gave the Rotary Club her final “State of the Village” report Tuesday, March 23.  Her 16 years on the village board end at noon, April 5, she said.

GHOST HUNTING: TAPS, The Atlantic Paranormal Society, was back at The Otesaga in recent days, filming a ghost-hunting TV show.

SIGN OF SPRING: The Fly Creek Cider Mill opens for its 154th season on Friday, March 26.

REMEMBERING: The county Democratic Committee is planning an annual Jedediah Peck Dinner at a date to be announced this summer, in honor of the early local Jeffersonian.

Club member Edmund Donnelly, seated with bowl in hand, led the Leo Club’s food and cash solicitation at the Great American Saturday and Sunday, March 20-21, to benefit the Hartwick Food Pantry.
