Barbara and Bill Harman of Cooperstown are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter Jess to Evan Lloyd Guiney, also of Cooperstown. Evan is the son of Dr. Katharine Lloyd and the late Dr. William Guiney.
Both Jess and Evan graduated from Cooperstown Central School in 2002. Jess then attended The Maryland Institute College of Art, graduating in 2006. She completed her M.A. in art education in 2007.
Evan graduated from Amherst College in 2006 and is now pursuing his Ph. D. in molecular biology at Stanford University while Jess teaches in Palo Alto.
The couple is enjoying their time in California, but plan to return to the northeast after Evan finishes his degree.
An outdoor wedding is planned at the Thayer Farm above Lake Otsego on Aug. 14.
